Hi guys, ive started putting some audio equipment in my car and ive brought a pair of splits for the front and i was wondering where is a good place to mount the crossover for the splits?
Hi, tim. you could remove the door skins and mount them inside the doors. You may have to make up some brackets but otherwise its good a place as any.
I was thinking that but i noticed when i took the door trim of the other moisture can get in the and i didnt want it to wreck the wiring if i mounted there.
You can place them in behind the kick panels on both driver and passenger side of the car. Alternatively, the plastic covers underneath the steering column and glovebox make for good mounting points and are easily accessible should anything go wrong or you need to access the crossover.
As said, you can mount them in the doors, I had them in the doors of my vt without any problems associated with moisture, having said that it's much easier to have them in the cabin simply for ease of wiring access.
