Default VT Wagon speakers not working. LHS only.

Hey guys I have just installed an Alpine HU in the wags and all the speakers on the drivers side have stopped working. All the speakers are fine as I have pulled them out and tested them. Also I have used a aftermarket wiring kit so I highly doubt it is the wiring that I have done. Could have been the same with the stock HU but it was not in there long enough for me to notice. Any suggestio0ns. Please HELP.

so the drivers side speakers stopped working just after you installed the headunit? if so, start with the basics,

balance/fader, make sure its all centred.

check ur wiring: could possibly be the wiring kit, doesnt hurt to check.
swap round the left and right wiring to see if sound follows if it does, the wiring is wrong. if it doesnt and you have no sound, a wire has been cut/severed or a plug/wire isnt connected. either way it points to ur wiring kit.

Ok well if you have tested the drivers side speakers and heard them produce sound then doing a fader and balance check as mentioned by ephect is obvious although the alpine unit when powered up has these settings centred by default. As you bought a wiring kit swapping the left outputs to the right/drivers side speakers prolly not what you would want to do. An easier way would be to check the resistance of the drivers side speaker wires at the alpine plug with a multimetre. If you have resistance of aproxximatly 4 ohms at the right front and right rear wires ( GREY and PURPLE) then the units output is faulty. If no resistance then its a wiring fault, first place to check is the at the factory plug you connected the wiring kit to and then the point the wiring enters the doors.
