hi all, i have a 800w mono-block amp, and im running it off the same wiring that the headunit is running off instead of the battery terminal, due to shortage of cable and my stinginess lol, it was fine with 1 sub, but now ive hooked a 2nd, and it blew a fuse, would i benifit from hooking it up straght to battery? or shouls i put a bigger fuse?
So youre using small cable to power the amplifier?
Did it blow a fuse at the amp or at the fusebox?
DO NOT put a bigger fuse in EVER!!! You could cause a fire as the cable will burn up before the fuse blows.
Youre amplifier and subs will benefit from upgrading to 8awg power cable and an appropriate sized fuse within 30cm of the battery terminal. The more power the amp can pull from the battery the more power the amp can produce, which means louder subsAlso use the same size cable for the earth.
Power in = Power out.

Your fuse blowing is a warning that something is trying to turn your car into a pile of ashes and molten metal. Do the job properly the 1st time and you won't have any future problems
