hi guys,
A mate has a vx ss and wants to upgrade the audio system. At the moment, he has 6" in the front, 6" in the rear doors, 6x9's in the parcel shelf, and wants to also hook up a 1000w sub in the boot.
any suggestions on how'd he go?
We were thinking perhaps running the front and rear speakers off a 4channel amp, and running the 6x9's and sub off a mono block.

How much does he want to spend?
Assuming he isn't interested in hearing that a 4speaker setup will sound better than 6, there are a few different ways he could set it up.
Joe (the car audio sponsor) has a 6ch amp on his website for about a grand that would make life pretty simple

Yeah a budget would be helpful.....but im with Philthy on this one, 4 speakers will sound better.
Maybe a 4ch. amp to run the fronts and 6x9s, and a monoblock to run the sub and leave the rear door speakers running off the head-unit. He wont be able to run 6x9s and a sub from a monoblock, not unless he wants only sub bass frequencies coming from the 6x9s![]()
