hey
i'm just wondering how hard would it be to put 2 10/12" subs an 2 6" or so speakers in the parcel shelf of a vk or vs?
thanks
Really hard because it's illegal to cut the metal of the parcel shelf... Just put the subs in the boot.
k, can you relpace the parcel shelf. i was reading Street Commodores budget builds and there was this mad blue LS1 powered VL with these subs.

You can replace the top piece of the parcel shelf with MDF or plywood etc without any dramas, its just the large magnets of the subs will either need huge spacers so they clear the metal piece or you'll need to cut holes in the metal section (illegal).
Do you have a link to this other build you were looking at? cant seem to find it.
Honestly mate, i wouldnt bother.....it wont sound that good and if you still decide to do it legally it'll look like crap, not to mention the huge neon sign on your back window saying "LOOK, SUBS RIGHT HERE....COME AND STEAL THEM!!".
Dont take this the wrong way mate, we are just giving advice.....after all its your car and do what you want to customize it![]()
150db in a commodore =
It is doable, but as already said, will be illegal, won't sound very good, and is pretty much the biggest advertisement to theives you could do

the car there in is a blue VL commodore (no body kit) with 20" VE HSV rims and an LS1. it had re-trimmed late model commodore seats in cream or yellow (cant remember)
im pretty sure in the rear parcel shelf there are 2x 10" subs and 2x 6x9" speakers (2 subs inthe middle and speakers on either side
