    Default VS Firewall Hole

    Hey Guys, Noob Question below:
Where abouts is the firewall hole in a 96 VS to put the amp power through?? Also which is the best side of the car to run the cable from the sub to amp? (Amp will prob be under passenger seat).
    Thanks, Max

There is an oval shaped grommit next to the brake booster (passengers side of the booster when looking at it from the engine bay), remove that and punch a small hole in the carpet underlay, drill / cut a hole through the grommit and run your cable through it and the carpet underlay, it should come out near the brake pedal from the inside.

Can i ask why you wanna mount the amp under the passenger seat? Its not a level place and air flow isnt the best either (ive got my speaker amp there in my VR).

Anyway, its not important which side the speaker cable goes to the sub, so if you do mount it under the p/s seat then run it down the p/s.

Thanks mate, and what does the brake booster look like? hahaha, (Rough location when looking at the engine bay)
Basically putting it under the passenger seat due to the fact that the wiring kit I have will not make it any further than there, if it even makes it there.. Haha.

The brake booster and master cylinder(silver thing in front of the booster) are on the drivers side when looking in from the engine bay. The brake booster will be directly in front of the steering wheel (again, looking from the engine bay)

EDIT: This is not my car

What through the grommit or the carpet underlay?

My amp is earthed to one of the seat bolts, just put the ring terminal over the hole and replace the seat over the top (maybe get someone to hold the terminal in position) then put the bolt through and tighten it up. Make sure to sand back the paint around the hole you want the terminal to go onto.

Getting it through the grommit... Are you talking about the grommit that is unused? (sorta like its plugging a hole?) or the one that has a bunch of cables already going through it?
Thanks for ur help mate, I'm new to commodores and well cars in general haha.

Yeah the oval grommit thats unused (the car is auto i assume?). The grommit should be about 5cm x 3cm. Remove the grommit (just use a screwdriver to pry it out) and drill a hole in it about the same size as the cable, if youre having trouble getting it through then just get some soapy water or dishwashing detergent / water and "lubricate" the cable so in slides through better.

Oh damn, that last part dosent sound so good
