Is a 1999 Heaad Unit Mp3 Compatible?

My 1998 Vt headunit is stuffed.It wont even accept a cd now and when it did, it skipped all of the time.
Needless to say, i am looking for a new cd player for my Commy.
I see this HU for sale and the owner claims that he can play mp3 formatted cds on it.
Does anyone here know if I can load up about 100 mp3s on a disc and play them on a 99 Vtss head unit?

No. A standard (stock) headunit from any 1999 commodore (SS included) will not be mp3 compatible. Hell, even the 2006 VZ's weren't.

Grab a cheap mp3 headunit. They range from $150 to $250 from Supercheap/Autobarn/JB.
