hi i apologise if its somewhere really obvious, but i'm just trying to fit a single din head unit in my vx instead of the stock eurovox (double din).
I bought the mounting part to fill in the other din, and i put that in so half is filled.
then i put my single din sony head unit in, and it just doesnt seem to fit in comfortably, there is a tiny gap each side of the unit. I know on older cars you can just screw those fork looking metal pieces to the sides of the unit, then bend the metal outwards, and screw it to the front of the sides (if that makes sense)..
but i cant seem to find anything like that to hold the unit firmly in place in the vx..
does anyone have any ideas? i'm baffled lol
thanks muchly appreciated![]()
Use the cage that comes with the headunit? In my old vt I basically wedged the aftermarket cage into the bigger existing cage. Sounds sloppy but it doesn't budge.
Yeah with the VT/X the cage thats supplied with the unit is a really tight fit in the original cage, usually this will be enough to hold the unit in place. I have in some case used tek screws on either side of the aftermarket cage, but this makes for an extremely tight fit for the head-unit.
150db in a commodore =
i chucked out that bit ages ago cause i thought i didnt need it in my last car.. whoops thanks for that i'll try find one somehow
