ay felas need a bit of help here as im about to go insane.
i was playin around with my mono block the otherday and eventualy ended up pulling the it out to work out dimensions n stuff so i could relocate it. also had all this done with out disconecting the batery as i got lost in the moment. haha
so long story short, put it all back together and it would power up but the sub would not run, checked all the wires about 100 times and made sure the grounds where all good but still no luck .
then had one of my dads mates have a look n he tested the output ??( not sure if thats right) for the sub and found it wasnt working correctly. he thinks i may have spiked the amp and somthing inside the amp has been fried
so i guess all i want to no is, have i stuffed an amp ???
also dont know all that much about audio so if somthing is unclear im happy to further explain.
cheers.

You unmounted the amp to measure it up? Did you disconnect the ground cable or leave it in? Did the power cable touch any metal or not?

yea i took the amp out to play around with positioning, as it made things easier then measuring and lining things up. the ground cable was taken out of the amp, but still attached to actual grounding. and im not exactly sure if the power has touched any metal although its a high posibility. cheer for the reply

I find it hard to believe youve stuffed the amp just by removing and re-installing it....ive done this 100s of times and never had an issue.
So the amp is powering up OK, meaning the power light is coming on when you turn the head-unit on?
Might be worth checking to make sure theres good voltage at the amps' terminals, just get a multimeter and put it on the + and - terminals of the amp, turn the head-unit (and therfore the amp) on and see if theres a major difference in voltage, could have done something with the power / earth cable you didnt realize.
When you unplugged the RCAs, at any time was the head-unit turned on, and if so did you tape up the plugs?
May have touched earth or even worse the power cable....might even pay just to try another set of pre-outs maybe?

yep amp powers up all good . i think my dads mate did the voltage test ur talkin about aand there was little power in the - and no power in the + ( or could be the other way around) on the terminals that link the sub to the amp, but the system control, power and ground where all perfect. so there no problem with power geting into the amp but it just wont come back out. headunit was never turned on.
cheers for the reply
