i would go with splits can get good bass from splits not as much as 6x9's but if you want bass that bad then subs are the go
but yea i would go the splits
Depends on what you want, if youre after more bass and generally more volume, go with 6x9s in the parcel shelf. Best "bang for buck", although they will draw the sound stage towards the rear (so the sound comes from behind you, not in front of you...which is better).
But if youre after more sound quality and abit more volume, then go for front speakers (6"-6.5"). If this is the case then component (splits) are the best option. They have a separate tweeter which you can mount "off axis" (pointing in a different direction) so the high parts of the music, like voices and cymbals etc are musch clearer.
Ultimately it would depend on how much you wanted to spend. If its not much (under $150) then probably 6x9s, if you can afford more than that i would suggest splits for the front.
I know, a little more than a simple answer but its an answer!
EDIT: dynoryder, he already has the amp if you read further up....could you please stick to answering peoples questions rather then rambling on![]()

The max power readings on the amp aren't really good for much. Find a model number for it, then hit up google until you find the RMS power output, then see if you can find a good set of splits with an RMS power handling a bit under the amps output.
Then when you tune the setup, you don't have to have the amp running flat out to give the splits their ideal power and it should run cooler and "cleaner"
