just make sure the amp has more power than the speakers
like this 100w sub works well with 150w amp
not so well with 75w amp
Im running 2 speakers in the front doors at the moment and a set of 6x9's in the parcel tray and getting new new speakers for the rear doors soon. Is it worth buying an amp to the speakers off? and what speakers should i run off the amp?

If you have a sub, then it would be fine just to run the front speakers off the amp. If no sub, then it wouldn't hurt to amp the 6x9s as well for the extra bass you will get out of it.
Lol dynoryder, way to make up your own question to answer there

Sorry for hijacking but i was given a 2x300 watt amp from my son, Would 250 watt speakers be ideal for this amp ? Also what would be best 6inch three way speakers in the doors or 6x9s in the parcel shelf ?
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
Is it 300Wrms or 300Wmax? It would be much easier if people gave model numbers rather than vague specs![]()
Not inconvenienced at all... Would just like to be able to help first time
In general though, it's best to have your speakers Wrms rating a little below your amplifiers. That was your speakers should always get clean undistorted power up to their maximum rating and it allows for some headroom for the dynamics in the music. There's no fixed number for how much more power.
Ok here we are , it says 300w max

i run a pair of splits (Alpine S Type) off a 4 way Alpine (2 way bridged) 400watt amp, and 2 12" Clarion 220RMS Subs off a 400RMS Kicker Amp. Seems to do fine. Ppl in the back disagree, but whos driving?? I got a nice Kenwood D/Din DVD thing in my dash so i can adjust the tone and pitch of the tweaters if they make my ears start to bleed too. So i guess it all depends on the set up. But generaly run splits front and subs back all amped, or coax rear off the unit... for those whiney friends
i need to spend to explore more!
I love my noise, but in traffic if some prawn pulls up nextdoor and complains??? My boot rattles and i dont care!.. mainly coz if i wasnt told so i would know. Enough bass and enough treble to get me by. Only got the D/Din coz of that MASSIVE VY head unit, needed to fill the hole. Bit unhappy about the stearing controls but, oh well. If it wasnt a daily a lot more consideration would taken
Where did he mention any of those?
Seriously, I swear you just go around making up questions so you can throw around words and acronyms that you heard once
EDIT: Sway, yeah that is a pretty good basic system for people looking for something just a bit better than standard without going over the top. Thats pretty much exactly what I would do on a tight budget

you must of voted yes on the blackfaces thread you ...........
On an unrelated note...I can't find where the "ignore user" button is.
No offence dynoryder, its purely for my own safety so that my humble mind isn't overloaded with the amount of audio knowledge you are spilling out, and I can only assume will continue to do so.
So, can anyone figure out how the ignore thing works? I swear it used to exist years ago...
EDIT: Found it!!!!!

Ummm, back to the start of the thread.... dynoryder.., if you DO know a exstensive amount about car audio, why not actualt answer the thread? Should Kindo be looking at amping front and rears? Whats Amp Speakers Vs what Amp Subs, where do the magical RMS come into it all, db info and in general what setup would you recomend? Not having a crack man, but isnt this the point of these forums? share the knowledge?
I'm not even going to bother with this guy, this is pathetic. Sorry for the derailment OP
Yeah this dynoryder guy sounds like a complete tool. Nonetheless, On topic.
Amping them helps in a big way with quality, and you'll get volume if you're after that too. If you don't give 3/5s of a f*** about your rear passengers, just amp the fronts... But if you want a good all round system, get a 4ch amp for fronts and rear doors.. and 2ch amp for 6x9s.
sooooooooooo what speakers do you recomend for a 2x300 watt MAX amp ??

buy an amp that has more power than the speakers you buy so buy speakers first i can tell you a millon differnt things but it all depends how much $$$$ you want to spend so buy the speakers and then look for an amp even if the amp is the same power go for it but look a rms not max watts
