Hi just bought a vt without a radio and a mate gave me an original eurovox out of a vt he had years before... trouble is he cant find the code for the radio and he doesnt have the vin number of the car it came out of anymore..... is there a way to get past the security code on the radio other than paying holden to do it?
The model number is 92047 975 and the serial number is 316106359.5.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Surely your mate has the transfer of rego/ownership papers somewhere, or even an old rego renewal slip? Service receipt, traffic offence, etc, all have VIN numbers on them.
I don't think anyone here will/can help you.

no he got rid of the car years he just pulled out the original radio and put it aside
Unfortunately theres no way to bypass the code or have any real way of knowing what the code is, other than going to holden with the VIN number of the previous car.....even then without rego papers etc i would imagine the guys at holden wouldnt be too keen to give you the code.
You can buy a cheap CD player and a pocket to go underneath for around $120 these days, might be worth just doing that. Another option is to go into your local wreckers and buy another one, or keep an eye out in the FS forum here and maybe on Ebay for one, just make sure you get the code![]()

I had a problem with my old van and the code from the vin didnt work so i have to pull the radio out and give them the serial number of the deck.
Also i have been told that someone with a tech 2 can get the code from the cars computer but i dont know if that will work as its not the correct radio?????
Better late than never but you can test to see if the radio is function by using the test code 1111 - again it is a test code and the radio will only work for about 4-5minutes before switching off and requesting PIN.
Alternatively contact Eurovox (Victoria) @
http://www.eurovox.com/main.htm
or

where you can submit a request form for a reset for $22.
Good Luck!
