can u recommend anything else up to $150
i dont want any bass just mid and highs from speakers subs have more than enough bass on - 10
thanxx
Im finding it hard to understand youre question/s. You basically want suggestions for front splits under $150? And your planning to power them off the Alpine amp?
If im correct then firstly the Alpine amp in bridged mode will be nearly perfect for a set of splits.
As far as other suggestions go for under $150 i dont think you'll find much else, maybe the Digital Designs DDC6.5s found here other than those and the Jaycars theres not much i would recommend.
I used the Jaycars for over 2 years in my car, but was a little dissapointed with the midbass output, volume wise they were brilliant. I recently upgraded to the DDC6.5s basically for more midbass, and havent been dissspointed. They are a fairly deep speaker so they may need some modifications to fit into the VT doors, im not too sure, youre best to measure the available depth in the door and compare it to the mounting depth of the DDs, if required i can measure mine and let you know if youre interested.

Pretty sure Holdenboy has everything pretty well covered there.
$150 won't get you much in the way of a decent set of splits, so it might be worth grabbing the cheapest set you can for now and saving your pennies so you won't need to upgrade anytime soon.
The other option is to turn your sub amp gain down...

thanks alot for the help
sorry i jumbled up my questionn
i dont need much midbass i have soo much from the subs i just need to be loud
im looking at buying the jaycars
would you reccomend 6x9's at the back
or another pair of 6's in the back doors
also my head unit doesnt remember any of my settings i always have to put it to hpf: 125 hz and so on
how can i make it remember my settings
its one of the pioneer ipod compatible oness
Remember midbass is different to sub bass. On your amp the sub should be low passed around +/-80Hz, then the splits can take care of the higher (midbass up) frequencies. Of those splits recommended I'd go for either the SPL Dynamics or the DDs.
You want to try and maximise your midbass.. its much more preferable to have as close to a flat response as possible over the entire frequency range (or with a slight bit more sub bass for those that way inclined) as opposed to massive peaks in sub bass and highs. Of course its very hard to get a maximally flat response but you want to aim for something close. The music will sound a lot clearer, louder and a lot more 'full' this way.
Also, go 6" in the back.. 6x9s are horrible. As for your settings not being saved, sounds like you wave your constant and acc wires the wrong way round on the back of the h/u.
ive seen
Ryda Car Audio - Fusion RE-FR6530 6.5" Car Speakers
and
jaycar 2 way speakers both around $80
which are better
i dont want to spend $150 on splits
this is my first car not really wanting to spend too much on it
also my uncle has a supra and he blew his cadence sub he needs a new one
everyones been tellign him to get a single jl audio w7 13.5
with a 1000/1 amp
can you suggest anything
he wants clear strong bass
For your uncle:
Amp: Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-1200D
Sub: VIBE - Space CBR12 Enclosure
Thats what I would recommend. He could always go double if he wants something seriously bassy.
Just how strong does he want it?

You have an amp and sub, that takes care of 10% of the sound, which bear in mind wouldve cost more than $150. But you dont want to spend $150 on a set of splits that takes care of the other 90%?
For $70 more than those coaxial speakers, you will get a heap better sound. I understand that its your first car and all but you also need to realise (if you havent already) that you can always remove the sound system and install it into your new car when you upgrade.

Well i dont know, the MBs are a good brand, and all their models have excellent power handling. Hard to say though.....By the looks of that link they're out of stock anyway.
The fusions arent the best, although i still think either the Jaycars or if you can stretch the budget a little further the Digital Designs DDC6.5s are both better choices, the DDs dont play as loud as the Jaycars, but they make up for it with actual midbass and cleaner treble.

MBs WERE a good brand... before it moved out of the German factory.. now I would place them as mainstream.

well i want it loud
why do i need mid bass if i have subs
they give all bass i need
the bass from the front speakers even when i dont put the hpf on i dont like the sound
do the jaycars have that really sharp sound that hurts when you turn it up . i like to listen to my music for long periods of time
The music range goes...
Sub-bass
Mid-bass
Mid-range
Treble
You subs does sub-bass, surprisingly
Your woofer in your splits does mid-bass and mid-range. Ideally you'd have an 8" for mid-bass and a 4-5" for mid-range but that's quite difficult to set up.
Your tweeters do the treble.
The Jaycars use a soft dome tweeter, which is a little bright (loud) sounding to some people, its nothing a little bit of adjusting cant cure.
I used to have them in my car and listen to my music loud for over an hour at a time, never had any problems.

Hell the whole post should equal instant ban. Only relieving factor is that the WOW Sight and Sound near me does some really good work.
