so bought a new fusion powerplant amp.

wondering how much it is to swap them over?

    Step 1: Disconnect battery

Step 2: Pull out wires, connect them into corresponding terminals in the new amp.

Step 3: Connect battery and test

Step 4: Screw amp into whatever the old one was screwed into.

If you take it in to get it done it should take 10-15 mins TOPS

I'm not sure what you mean by "don't fit".
I assume the powervox amp was running off 8g wire, so that should fit into anything.

If you are having trouble, then maybe you could ask at a car audio place for a quote, and at least they will be able to tell you if you need to run new wiring or not, then you can post up on here and we can help you through it.

Whereabouts are you located? All of a sudden I have a lot of free time

What is the amp model number?

To save rewiring the whole lot, you could run your 4g power wire (I assume it's 4g) into a fused distro block and run an 8g cable from there to the amp, then use an 8g earth as well of course.

If you DO take it into a car audio place, don't let them sell you a whole new wiring kit. You will only need to replace the power and earth wires, and jaycar sell 8g cable (double check that's what you need) fairly cheap

    EDIT http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...T&SUBCATID=491 Wow, $3.30/m....VERY cheap!

Fusion Powerplant PP-AM120040 Amp | UK Car Audio & In-Car Entertainment Prices Smashed! It says that should accept 4g cable. Find out what size you have in there, coz I'd be surprised if what you had was bigger than that
