The cable fits - but do I dare power up ??

I have a Kenwood KRC - X50 with KGC-50 Graphic Equalizer out of a jap import Subaru.

I also have a clarion stacker of about the same vintage ( 1997 ) - and cable. I know the cable is the same on the clarion and kenwood units - but can the kenwood head unit be connected to the clarion stacker ?

Should I just power it up and see ?
