    Default Build Me A System

    Evening All.

Looking for a system for my VT.

Need advice on what to put in, fronts, rears, amps, sub, head unit.

Also, what size are the biggest speakers that can go in the standard speaker position in the doors?

budget and goasl are always the starting point
cant recomen anything until we know how much you want to spend and what you want to achieve with your system.
also when considering budget does it need to include install or are you able to DIY

ha ha too fast for me holdenboy

Probabaly looking around an $800 budget.

As for achieving, just something better than the bloody crap stock system they provide, like to listen to my music loud, and am able to do the install myself.

Check out the $1000 system in the thread i suggested.....probably be able to get some prices cheaper and do the install yourself??

Also, 6.5" speakers will go into the stock door mounts without too much modification.

Yep, brands from Ebay like "Kingwood" and "Powervox".....come to think of it, any new amp on there thats not a big brand (havent heard of them before) i'd stay away from. Youre much better off buying from a store locally. Mainly because of two reasons, one is warranty and the second is supporting your local retailer!!!

Sony arent too bad (their new stuff), and Fusion are the same....but ultimately you get what you pay for, so buy the best and / or most expensive gear you can. It saves upgrading in the future because the stuff you bought at the start either blew up or youre not satisfied with its performance.

while not a fan of kicker, I have been fitting their products for about 6-7 years now....can't find a fault with that amp. It's no Kicker Warhorse but shit, it does alright for what it is. Perfect for that sub. Only problem I see with that kit is the bloody sub. it's only good for about $150 wrms
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

I've been using XPLOD for the last 5 years, everybody reckons they're a shit brand, never had a problem with them. Aslong as i can turn it on, press play and set it and forget it, i'll be happy. Been living with radio and a tapedeck for the last 16 months in the VT so anything's going to be an upgrade. And the sub was never an overly important part of the build. Both cheap parts to upgrade if i ever wanted to get serious about a car audio system, but that was never my aim.
