headunit radio probles

ive recently installed 2 had decks, i bein in a vx comodore and one in my mrs barina and on both occasions the rado works but very very very badly. i connected up the aerial but woundering why both of these are getting bad reception??? thanks josh

Power antenna??

You earthed both units out properly?

i used factory earth wire from original headunit. in the vx the antenna was snapped so didnt connect the power antenna. but with the stock headunit with a snapped antenna it worked fine.

for the barina i also used factory earth from original headunit and shit reception.

Does the barina have a power antenna or a window version?

Strange one there......maybe try using a better earth but i dont think thats the problem.

some head units don't pick up as well as others man try the power hook up it will make the world of diffrence

Barina has an antenna on the roof, similar to the ve commodores. The barina headunit is a new sony one and the one in the vx is a soniq fold out dvd player.. The soniq one has been installed in a subaru liberty and radio worked fine.. Yea I thought of a better earth but I don't think it would change anything. Any more ideas??
