its not ideal having the midwoofers inverted, but they seem to still play ok..

I'm sure there's bits missing in the frequency response, but who cares?

i don't get it, why go to the trouble of all that, to fit 4 set's of cheap Jaycar speakers? Is there any way to even re-fit the door trim? Wouldn't it sound awful? I'm not dissing your work or anything, but obviously you had some sort of goal in mind when you did the install, i just can't understand what it was..?

what trouble? its like $20 worth of mdf, and a few hours work?

these speakers are great for the money! why spend $200 on a set of splits when they won't sound much better than these anyway?

what do you mean put the door trim back on? these are the door trims? My goal was to fit four sets of splits, with crossovers, in a VL door, with a manual window winder?

I need something to (try) keep up with the sub stage...

I'm considering uninverting two woofers in each door, but, meh, whats the hurry?

I can't justify spending $1000 on a set of splits, that won't be any louder, and may sound better, but its in a car anyway! it really doesn't matter that much!

I strongly argue that one set of good quality split's, will keep up with any sub stage affordable by any VL owner.

lmao, how the hell do you figure that?

unless the splits have as much cone area as two 12inch subs, they'll have no hope of keeping up with what I'm running

Who told you that crap mate. I like the door look and I reckon it will look mint once you finish it all but that idea about cone area is stupid. If cone area is everything then how can I hear my car alarm which has about a 1 inch speaker over my two 12-inch subs?

Are you able to swivel the tweeters so they are pointed towards your head? They will sound better if you can.

no one told me that, I'm telling you!

and why on earth are you now bringing a car alarm into it? lol

we are talking about midwoofers here, not a piezo siren

I was simply trying to explain in simple terms how much cone area up front I would need to have any hope of keeping up with my subs, how does that have anything to do with a car alarm?

it clears by about 1mm, and the crossovers only just clear the door jamb at the other end by about 1mm as well

the crossovers form the door handle, so you can close the door, there's an 18mm gap behind the crossovers to put your fingers in.

LOL, he just asked a simple question, i guess were all a bit curious. I find it strangely odd that you won't say what sub/s you are running.
