Here's my amp:
Kenwood - KAC-M615D
It is a mono block, and I'm currently bridging it to run my 1500watt Kenwood sub.
I want to get another sub, just for some added bass.
With the inputs it has + - + -
currently I'm using the outside positive ( + ) and the outside negative ( - ).
If I wanted to hook another sub up, could I use the other connections, or move the existing wires around OR could I fuse the wires of the new sub to the wires of my current one ie neg and neg entwined and positive and positive entwined and just continue to bridge it? (So really it'd be just like putting thicker gauge wire in the inputs that are currently filled)
Would it work? would I lose power doing this apposed to some other technique?
give me some info! cheers guys!
do you still have the instruction book? i'm going to assume that if you hooked up each sub to it's own set of + and - connectors, the subs will be in series. your instruction book will confirm that. if you connect the other sub up exactly the same as you have it now (entwined as you say), you will be running them in parallel.
all depends what you want to do. if you don't know then before you touch anything you should read up about series/parallel circuits, and ohms law, and find out what impedance your current sub is. you can't just go hooking shit up (especially in parallel), that's a sure way to blow your amp. it's stable at 2ohm so you need to make sure you don't go any lower. and that amp is very weak anyway, so hooking another sub won't give you any extra bass because i bet that little amp is already pumping out as much power as it can. what you actually need is a better amp - and depending on the stats of your current sub you may need a new (decent) sub as well. or 2 if you wish.
here is some good reading for you, which will help you to figure out how you want to wire your subs

You'll have to give is the model number or a link to the subwoofer your using.

Underpowering a subwoofer is bad, Underpowering 2 subwoofers is worse...
One way to make it clip an pop it...

Hang on... its a mono block amp...??? they are more power efficient at 2 ohms... we are asuming that he's running two standard entry level subs,,, single voice coil 4 ohms speakers... The terminal blocks on a mono block amp are singular (one positve, one negative) internally, there may be two pairs of terminals but this is only to make hooking multiple subs up easier...
the amp will run two subs fine... and the two will sound way better than one ever will...
give it a crack and if your still not happy then look at upping the power...

it would be worse if they tryed to run it off a 4 channel,,,, seen that done too many times to count
Oh sorry bad use of language, I meant the idea won't work, for the better, not much anyway, depending on the voice coils of the sub.
I wonder how little power you need in a sub before the suspension nearly stops the cone moving.
No I'm definately not losing any slee, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, p over it.

Yeah youre right.....no "pun" intended haha.
Ive got the suspension of a sub to move with 6 volt batteries no problems, actually getting some kind of volume out of it is a different story though![]()

You must have been pretty bored to be hooking a sub up to a 6v battery.![]()

Ahh ok, I just got this imagine in my head of an adult sitting next to a sub and a battery, giggling, while chanting, sub goes in, sub goes out, sub goes in, sub goes out...... Maybe I should cut back on the sugar.

yes you can and also for further reference you can not bridge a mono as such on the amp wire like this + - + - just wire each pos and neg to each sub like parrelel as if each sub is off its own channel
