Ok, just wanting to know if anyone has a set of spl dynamics HF-6.1 splits Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics HF-6.1 and a SPL Dynamics XTR-250D2 Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics XTR-250D2 , thinking of getting these...
Looking at the splits and subs listed above and running the splits off of the SPL Dynamics S-1002 Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-1002
and the sub off of the SPL Dynamics S-1200D Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-1200D
Where do they rank as a speaker? i want really crisp and clear sound, will be listening to a wide array of music ranging from techno and trance to rock and rnb...
Been told to look at the type r alpines, just looking for the best bang for my buck, i prefer to have parts that are all from the same brand, no particular reason just personal preference, so really will this system be what i am after, cranking sound that is crisp to the last drop???
You might want a larger amp for the splits if you want to reach thier max potential.
Also that mono amp provides twice the power that sub is rated at. While this sub will probably take a fair bit more than its rated at, you could really get it kicking if you got two.
Yeah SPL Dynamics are a fine brand, quite a few people have used that brand and will swear by it.

So would this be better to run the splits Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-2604 ???, i know the monoblock is twice what i need, but its going in a ute, and i only have space for one sub, and its the smaller of the two spl dynamics monoblocks... but in terms of SQ against the Type R's would there be much of a difference, because the price difference is not that big, so either way...
I'd consider a set of the AD's, instead of the SPL's if your after SQ. The SPL range is good for what you pay, a lot better than most of the mainstream stuff on the market.. Sub wise, they make excellent subs, the XTR250 is good, very good, and will out do many other sub's in it's price range, and like Acarmody said, they will handle a far bit more than what their rated at.
The s2604 is perfect for a set of front splits, never mind that it has double the power you need, more power, more effiecieny, cleaner sound, sure there's the more technical side to it like speaker sensitivity, and THD, but i'm trying to keep it simple...Compared to the type R's, well Alpine are typically well built, and good quality products, however they are typically over priced, when compared to what else is on the market. Personally if your looking to spend Type R money, say $350ish, then i'd look at the AD's. my 2 cents

Well would the AD60's be worth the extra $135 over the AD6's, and getting them from the shopping secure online store, what is the postage worth??? and do they pack the products well, I.E Bubble wrap etc???
Also is there another monoblock amp that i could get to lower the price abit or is the S-1200D about right interms of power per dollar???
I've personally bought from Joe (shopping secure) excellent service, both before and after, and my items arrived safely, and quickly (free punt for you there Joe lol) The 60's are 150RMS either side i beleive.. 300watts RMS at full tilt out of a set of splits, especially on a HPF if your running a sub, and a good sub, will be more than enough, especially in a ute, trust me!If tuned correctly, your ears will be ringing eveytime you hop out. There's the OAX801 from OPtion AUdio, which is around $400, is still 1ohm stable, but won't give the the headroom of the SPL, but i'm a power man, i love to double and triple my rated inputs.

What if I run the sub at 1 Ohm with the Option Audio OAX801, it has 820W RMS that should be plenty soundn't it, even after its run in...
So a set of AD60 splits with a SPL Dynamics S-2604 4 channel bridged to 2, and the SPL Dynamics XTR-250D2 Sub With the OAX801, would that be a really good system, like insane crazy loud, but still really clear?
also with the tweeters, how do i run them? in parralell with the splits or in series???
I can't say how it will sound to you, every one's tastes are different when it comes to audio, but to me, it would sound great, especially in a ute. Ute's a awesome for doing installs, the extra amount of volume you gain from having such a smaller cabin space is ridiculous, and also makes me want to buy a ute!! But i'll let Joe answer your question's from here on, i'm not a sales rep![]()

First off I would like to thank you for considering my products for your install
And I would like to thank the members on here for the support.
Now to the nitty gritty:
The AD6 for your purposes would be a better option and would comfortably outdo pretty much anything else for the price. Is it worth upgrading to the AD60? Ofcourse, its basically an AD6 on steriouds. Its clearer, its punchier and its overall volume is also better. The SPL Dynamics set is a good set but I would use it in an application where the biggest volume is required because in a critical test of the two you will find that although the midbass on the SPL Dynamics set is fantastic, its not as clear and tight as the AD6.
Amplifier go with STEG. Unfourtunately the 4 channels from SPL Dynamics are actually sold out. I will work out a very good price on a STEG 45.4 which will produce upwards of 135RMS @ 4ohm x 2.
The sub is a good choice, I would suggest porting any box you use with that thing. Since your using a monoblock you will have a subsonic filter to protect it so you might as well get that extra output. I'm a fan of ported boxes so do feel free to go sealed if you would like a tighter bass rather than the increased output a ported box offers.
As for the monoblock, the Option Audio gear is a good value option. The price on the site would not be the price you pay since I would actually make a phone call or a google search on your behalf to find out what some other retailers are selling it for. The SPL Dynamics amplifier is a better piece of hardware though. Rock solid construction, clean, very good crossover systems but no bass boost so make sure your head unit supports bass controls. The SPL Dynamics amplifier gets my pick because of its ability to handle future upgrades such as getting a second sub in a setup later down the track in another car. Since its a tougher piece of hardware I would also expect it to be able to perform for longer periods of time.
The tweeters connect to a crossover which is also connected to the midwoofer. All you have to do is follow the labels and connect the crossover to the amplifier like any other speaker.
And yes, I think that would be a really good system and definitely loud and will come out clear and crisp and since its a 10" sub it will also be punchy. Whether or not its "crazy loud" depends on your perception of sound. Obviously a 15" 2500rms subwoofer will be louder but in the application of a ute I would find it difficult to suggest anything that would play louder without going into some pretty expensive custom gear and modifying some 400RMS 8" splits into the doors.
I think your definitely on the right track though.
By the way, shipping is free where possible. I would have to make an assessment of the package that we work out and your address to see if I can include it into the cost. I'll definitely do my best
*end essay*
*edit*: Just remembered Rick from formAUDIO (rick@formaudio.com) played with the SPL Dynamics set before, shoot him an email if you want to ask him some questions. Just say Joe Bellissimo told you to email him, hes soon to sign up as one of my installers.

Wow, lots of info there, thanks heaps,
In terms of price what would i be looking at for the Spl Sub, and S-1200D mono block.
also for the Ad60's and the steg 45.4X, looking at getting the Sub and Mono first then getting the splits and steg a short while after, or would you be able to do a better deal if i get all 4 at the same time???also would i be better to get the splits and steg first??? bit torn between the two cause the speakers that are in the ute aren't stock, so not bad, just not good...
Had a look around a seen a couple of AD Splits and have decided on those...
$1720 including shipping for the lot.
The breakdown is:
Sub and Amp total: $1050 - 10% JC Discount for those product types --> $945
Amplifier: $475 down to $300 to encourage you to try Italian power
Speakers: The AD6 is $375 on my specials page so add another $100 and you get $475
Total: $1720 and I will ship for free.
The pricing will not change if you buy it in on big lot. That would be pressuring you into making your purchase sooner than you would like and I really don't want to force you into buying anything until your ready.
