    Default audio dilema

im currently in my VT and im looking at upgrading the sound, just a headunit and 4 speakers atm

I was looking at the Pioneer DEH-1150MPG which can be found here
Car CD tuner with MP3/WMA playback - DEH-1150MPG :: Pioneer Australia

or the alpine CDE-100EUB found here
    Alpine Electronics of Australia

what are the thoughts on these two models?

and also im looking at speakers
    possibly Alpine SPS-600s
    Alpine Electronics of Australia

    or Dls performance 426
    DLS - Products

The dls are 70 bucks more than the Alpines but its the price hike worth it for them?
thoughts on these are welcome too
ps im looking for 6/6.5' speakers if anyone has any suggestions

    Cheers in advance
    James

Those speakers for the front, back, or all 4 corners? Front speakers you should definitely spend a little more and get component speakers with a separate tweeter. Makes a world of difference

I have the Alpine SPS600C's, the component version of those same speakers. Inline crossovers so you won't need to find anywhere to mount a crossover block, can wedge the inlines in the door behind the speaker easily enough. They sound brilliant, no regrets on spending the cash on them

Back speakers normal coaxials would do fine I think, it's the front that counts.

Headunits, the Alpine has front USB, may be useful to you. I bought a JVC headunit with front USB and it gets used quite a lot. The HU is great, only one little quibble and that is that it's "random" is not quite random enough for me.

Check the standard speaker sizes for your car. 6.5"s may be a little difficult to fit if 6" is standard. I struggled with mine, ended up ok with some effort though.

I've heard nothing but good things about DLS gear. I was going to buy one of their subs a while back but it fell through. Alpine Type-s's are a good upgrade from standard but nothing to write home about.

The headunits look much the same apart from the USB bit. Which one do you like the look of better....

I would definately go the DLS over the Alpines. Out of curiousity, how much are you paying for them, and where from? I might even have a use for a set myself

Hey if cartoys is selling them just buy them through me I'm one of cartoys dealers. I didn't think they had any left in stock since they told me they were almost out last time I chatted to them.
