Double Din in a VS

Simple question.


Can it be done, if so is there a replacement console I can buy??

Or do I have to mod it myself???

I've seen it done, but its a lot of work and it all has to be done yourself...or pay someone. There's no replacement console you can buy off the shelf

If you're good with Bog, and a blade of some sort, it can be achieved

i did it pain in the arse and it sticks out to much the heater box is in the way

Heater box??? If you want a double DIN bad enough you dont need a heater

Hi mate,

Yeah it can be done, I put a triple DIN into my old VR a few years back when I worked at Straithfield car radios in Coffs Harbour. we joked about doing it and in the end the installer said lets try.

The center dash was cut apart and we fitted a Kenwood Double Din + a single din graphic under it, the re-design called for the Heater box to be modified by cuting the front section out and glueing new panels to cover the cut away section. We also removed the centre cross panel which housed the little red flashing ligh.

Once fitted the unit sat flush with centre console and worked great, it powered three high end Kenwood amps. 1 x 2CH to run the front 5" & 6" splits, 1 x 2CH to run 6" & 8" rears and a Mono to run 3 x 12" MTX 8000 series subs.
