    Default Diagnose DVD player problem!

Eh. I haven't taken it out in over a month, but just lately, every now and again, my player doesn't come out.
    Single din, Pioneer, pops out..

Is it just the motor getting a little sad or what?
    Cheers.

I'll take a stab in the dark and say its the screen thats not coming out?

    Model number? Age?

If its less than 12 months old take it back under warranty....if over 12 months then you'll need to pay for the repairs, more than likely the motor/s running the screen have worn out or need some TLC (could have dust caught in the gears etc).

He said it's not coming out now and again... So it works sometimes.

    What I need to know is;
    - if the open/close button still beeps when you press it even when the screen doesn't come out...
    - if you can hear the motors/gears trying to open but it's not coming out...
    - if you have lights on the front even when it's not opening...
    - when it does come out, does the screen come out completely flat or does it rub a bit/change angle slightly as the screen is a certain way out...

These questions can pretty much determine if it's an electrical fault, mechanical fault or damaged flexible connector/ribbon.

    Yeah sorry. Shit description.
I dunno the model number.. its probs 4 or so years old.

    Yeah the buttons still beep
Can't hear the motor/gears trying to work though
    Lights are on
When it comes out the screen comes out fine

    Cheers for the help.

Drop it in to Pioneer service department in Braeside to be checked. It's not far from Narre Warren.

From your description it is most likely an electrical fault with the main board, but it'd need to be assessed to be 100% on that.

Ah ok. Yeah Braeside is a bit of a drive but always up for a little cruise...
I shouldn't need receipts, box etc or anything?

    Cheers

Well its not in warranty so I don't think you will be needing a receipt.

Braeside is like 30 mins drive from NW, that's not a long way

They're only open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm though, so make sure you go within those times. They usually have things fixed within 5 working days.

You can ask them to post it back when it's repaired so you don't have to pick it up again, not sure how you go about paying though.
