sorry if this has been posted already but i had a scroll through and couldnt find anything.
is there anyway i can install one or two 12'' subs in my VY sedan without compromising space in the boot? (ive got surf gear to store and dont want big subs taking up all the space)
You have a couple of options here:
1) Buy one of these , not the best for sound but with a suitable grille it should be well protected and still give you 95% of the room in your boot. I know its for a VT-VX, but the VY-VZ ones do come up on there fairly often....just thought i'd throw a link up to give you an idea of the space it took up etc.
2) Buy a pair of 6x9s and a suitable amplifier to run them, they will fit in the parcel shelf just fine and take up next to no space.....granted, you wont get as much bass out of them when compared to a subwoofer, but in your case its a good option. They will provide a decent increase in bass output though, it will depend on which brand / model you end up buying too.....plus how much power you give them from an amplifier. The amp can mount on the underside of the parcel shelf too, so again it takes up little room.
