My plok PA1100.5 keeps cutting in and out of protect mode if i turn the volume or gain up. mainly on the front speakers(faded to the back hapens less and faded to the front happens more oftern). Any ideas? I got told from autobarn to upgrade from 8g to 4g power cableand was going to put that in tomorow?
By the sounds of it i would be starting with re-doing the front speaker wiring. You may have pinched one of the wires when re-installing the trim etc (if you installed it yourself).
You can confirm this theory by disconnecting the front speaker wires from the amp, can you now turn the volume up? If so then its either the wiring (more likely) or one of the speakers is throwing off high impedances. But just disconnect the fronts first and try that. If it works fine then connect just one of the front speakers up and turn the volume up, then try the other front speaker......it should be only happening with one of the speakers.
Did the guy at Autobarn actually come out and test the voltage drop at the battery and then at the amp?
I highly doubt it![]()

yeah did it myself so might be a tad dodgy. That worked a treat, front left is cutting the amp but also the rear right coaxil seemed to have problems too. the bass side was droping and only could only hear trebal. would that be the same thing but after the crossover?
hah nah he didnt but when i checked they were pretty much the same
So youre using splits for the front?
May be an idea to post up some pics of how the amp is wired......sounds like either the wiring is all screwed up or youve cooked a speaker or two.
