how to mount head unit in vr commodore??

hey guys.

i would like to mount my head unit in properly but im wondering on how i can do this? ive been told to use the brackets off of a standard radio but i cant get hold of one. any other ideas on how to do this?

I would keep looking for a pair of stock brackets, they have a angled mounting tab and you would have a hard time replicating the bend so it mounts right. Try the wreckers, can be off any vn-vs

Making your own brackets is a BITCH!!! they have to bent exactly, and you'll need to drill a hole each for them to mount, and in most cases you have to space out the right hand side. Best be is to just go to a wrecker, and buy the factory radio itself if you need to, and yeah grab the stock mounting brackets. With the original brackets you'll be done in no time..

ive rung up about 10 wreckers local n none of them have got the standard brackets but i will be keeping an eye out for any 1 that is wrecking a vn - vs. i thought the vr - vs brackets were different to vn - vp lol
