Hopefully someone can help me with this.
I have a pioneer sub (TS-W307D2), I looked at the back and it had the 2 middle connections connected together which are positive and negative is that right? It is currently hooked up as a 4 ohm sub but I was wondering if my amp GM-5300T would be able to run it at 2 ohms?
Ive heard to run 2 wires from the amp in bridged mode and connect it up to both 2 ohms connections on the sub but i dont wanna blow anything up.
any help would be good![]()
No, this sub can only be run at 4-ohms or 1-ohm, and if you go 1-ohm you will kill the amp.
Edit: You have a two channel amp, bridge the channels and you will have 380wrms at 4-ohms, the most power that amp can put out. Bridge it and it will be very very close to maximum potential for that sub.

ah ok well thats good to know, n also just wondering why it has the 2 ohm connections when i can only run it at 4 ohm or 1 ?
They have dual coil subs because it gives you more wiring options than a single coil sub. In you case it can make 1-ohm OR 4-ohm, whereas if you have a dual 4-ohm sub you could make 2-ohms OR 8-ohms. And when you get another sub even more wiring configurations become available.

ah yeah, and what about the wire connected to the positive and negative whats that for? should i take it out?
also if I got a 2ohm amp would i just connect it to the 2 ohms connections? or is that still a no go.
Im heaps confused lol
That wire that connects the 1st voice coils negative to the second voice coils positive is what make the sub run at 4-ohm, its wired in series.
What you should have is this. Channel 1 positive on you amp should have a wire going to the positive on voice coil 1 on the sub. Then the wire mentioned in the first paragraph. Then a wire going from the second channel's negative on the amp, to the negative on the second voice coil on the sub. Can you make sense of that?

Thought a diagram might be easier, just connect wires where the yellow lines are, and leave that little one on the sub.
