    Default VR/VS Parcel Shelf Speakers

    Hey guys,

I know this has been covered plenty of times before but in each thread I checked people seemed to have a different answer but from what I can tell

6' = Should go straight in, correct?
6x9s = Will probably require some cutting / spacers

I'm trying to decide to buy either a pair or 6's or 6x9's, if I have to cut for the 6x9's is it hard? If it is I might just get some decent 6's?

Are you going to be using a subwoofer? 6x9s are essentially redundant if you have a sub.

That said, rear speakers in general are redundant if you have a decent set of front speakers...

This is mostly the truth, for VN, VP, VR and VS commodore sedans.

6" and 6.5" will go straight in, no cutting.
6x9's need angled spacers. Cutting the metal parcel tray/shelf is illegal.

    Hey Joe,

Yeah I have a 15" Sub in the boot, so perhaps I should just go for a good set of front speakers?

Yeah I wouldn't be spending money on rears. As a rule of thumb you will need to get some really beefy fronts so that they can extend down to meet the bass from the 15" sub. It would be a pain but 8" splits would probably work nicely if your using a 15".

reallly depends if you want a lot of sound coming from the rear, 6x9's with a sub really isnt a problem.
