Default using mobile phone to play mp3s into aux input

was wondering if there are cables to connect from the headphone socket of a nokia phone (requires 3 terminals on jack because of radio antenna being the headphone wire) to plug into the aux input jack in a head unit. The idea is to use the phone as an mp3 source got the deck in the car.

I had a look about on the net but couldnt find anything. where would i get one of these cables from?

With the nokia N95 it has the aux input and was pretty handy when I wanted to listen to it in the car.
I'm not sure if there is one which will play it through your car which doesn't plug in like that though.
Do you mean putting it in the hands free headset plugin?

what model is it? mines the n82, has the antenna wire aswell. but i can plug a normal 3.5mm plug(ie. normal headphones) into it, and itll work. i plug it into a rca adaptor at work for my own music in the workshop.

does yours ask you what you want to use it as when you plug headphones in?

    example

    list:
    headset
    headphones
    tv out
    music stand

if it does, just get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead, plug it in and choose headphones. crank stereo, done

mines a 3500c and the socket is small, smaller than the normal small sized headphone socket, it just wont play through the headphones ie taht output unless the phone detects the "enhancement" ie the headphones with antenna.

sounds like i need a lead that has the real small plug with three terminals on one end and a standard headphone plug on the other, might have to hunt about harvey normans or JB hifi and see if they have anything that will do the job.

Handsfree Earphone Headphone AD-57 Nokia 3500C 7210C - eBay Cable Handsfree, Personal Handsfree, Mobile Accessories, Phones. (end time 03-Jan-10 18:54:40 AEDST)

Try that, it looks like the headphone part is a standard 3.5mm socket, just unplug that and plug in the stereo 3.5mm cable.

I'm confused about you needing a 3 cable headphones or something?

With most phones, just ebay your phone model and put "aux cable" on the end of the search. Usually they make the end that fits in your phone, then the usual jack that will go into your stereo. I bought one for my sony ericsson now, but just got a new ipod so got an aux cable for that now

Just search ebay, you will defs find one, unless its an ancient phone lol

This may be the adaptor you need, it will convert the 2.5mm headphone jack of your Nokia to a 3.5mm headphone jack, then just get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables and plug it into your stereo.
The only thing i can see going wrong is the adaptor hasnt got a provision for the antenna, but it may work....for $4.00 its worth a try if you cant find anything to suit your particular phone.

Edit: Forgot, that link is to Electus.....they are the wholesalers for Jaycar, so that part number will be the same at Jaycar
