Hi everyone
I have a VY S, however there were some porblem with the display on the head unit, so i decided to install a after market head unit.
After installing a after market head unit, the aerial comes up every single time i turn the stereo on, even only playing a CD. I would like to disable the aerial's " poping up & down mechanism"
Does anyone have any clue of doing it??
Thank you very much![]()
So basically you want the antenna to go down when you are playing a source that dosent require the antenna (everything except radio) ?
Some head-units do remove power from the antenna when not playing the radio, others dont. So changing to a different brand head-unit is an option, although not likely
The other option is to install a switch in-line with the antenna control wire so you can choose when to have the antenna up by flicking the switch.

Thanks holdenboy
Im just wondering if there is a simple way that would disable the antenna all the time, even the radio is on. I never listen to the radio anyway![]()
Yep, disconnect the bluw / white wire at the back of the head-unit. Either that or if theres a fuse for the antenna alone then just remove that, although i doubt there will be.
