You know I WOULD take one apart... but the rage of the Stetsom demon would be released in all of its SPL might!

I was just having a look around Stetsom's site and of course the V 14K2D amp caught my attention. Apparently it draws 1200 amps at full bass. At 13.8v and 1ohm it makes 16500wrms. 1200 x 13.8=16560w input to the amp, and 16500 output. I don't think even Stetsom make 99.637% efficient amps. But I certainly wish they did.

Well they are capable of doing more than that. When you load them under 1 ohm they produce tremendous amounts of power, voiding the warranty of course.

I still have a bit to learn about these "super" amplifiers but I'm pretty sure they use cap banks in order to achieve such massive power outputs.

Why would it void the warranties, most of their amps are rated to 1-ohm?

I should load one of the big ones down to practically 0 and use it as an arc welder. An extremely expensive, most likely explode, misused one, but an arc welder nonetheless.
