Unhappy Auxiliary Port Problem on 06 VE Omega

Sorry if this is a simple one, but I cant find the answer to this anywhere...

My front aux port on the standard blaupunkt head unit only seems to give me sound to the passenger side speakers. CD and radio both work perfectly obviously.
I've tried different iphones/ipods, checked the balance/fading etc, but still nothing.
I've tried connecting via a standard cable from the aux port to the headphone jack on the ipod, and also via a cable that goes directly to the proprietory apple connecter at the base of the ipod, but both give me the same result.
I asked the local Holden guys if there was a special "holden" part, but they couldn't find anything.
Unless it's a specific cable I need, I can only assume theres a fault with my headunit.

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

If you have tried different 3.5mm stereo plugs and also different devices then the symptons are telling you that the fault is 100% cause by the headunit.

100% provided there's no proprietary cable required, which is why I posted this thread.

If others are able to use the aux port on this model no problem, then yep, head unit fault it is.

Thanks, will go back to holden and see what they say.

    Default ipod integration problems

Has anyone found the solution to this problem? I have the same problem with my ipod connection on my VE SS. However, sometimes the connection works perfectly. Then all of a sudden I get nothing! There seems to be some interference the sound goes all scratchy then nothing. If it was the actual input on the head unit it shouldn't work at all! Surely!

It happened on the way home from work the other day. For the majority of the trip it was working perfectly. Five minutes from home it just stopped. The next morning it was working perfectly again!! Very bazaar.

I believe you can buy a filter that connects between the ipod and the input on the stereo. However, not sure.

    Anyone?

    Cheers

I would firstly try another lead, or even try your current lead in another car etc.

A poor or loose connection can cause those symptons, could be either in the lead or the unit itself.
