    Default PAC SWI-PS Installation?

Has anyone installed a PAC SWI-PS successfully? If so, what version did they use to program the device?

I drive an 02 vx series 2 executive.

I installed mine using version #3 (VY Series II)
I also installed one on a WH Stato using version #9

Once you've prog'd the mode, then prog' the buttons.

I went to their website and followed the installation instructions for the Pontiac - GTO (same connector as the VY)

The wire colours should be the same. It was the Brown & Black/Yellow for the steering buttons in the WH and VY.

The VX wiring should be the same as the WH Stato (don't worry about the GTO link I posted earlier). Use version #9.

    Wiring
Factory loom 'Brown' wire to the SWI-PS 'White' wire
Make sure you ground the Factory loom 'Black/Yellow' wire.
    SWI-PS 'Red' to switched +12volts
SWI-PS 'Black' to ground (same as Black/Yellow)

If you have no luck with the version number/programming, take resistance readings between the Brown and Black/Yellow wire (press different control buttons for different resistances) and post them here. We may have to work out another version for you to program.

You should not have any problems with the version #9, you can try version #3 but I doubt that would work.

the vx doesn't have a black/yellow wire, you just need to make sure the black/white wire is earth, which it is... and if you need the commodore cheat cheat on it i can send it to you.

Yep you're right, my mistake.... Sorry.

According to my calculations, set it for version #9

    Resistance measurements in series
    0 ohms - Vol down
    1500 ohms - Vol up
    3700 ohms - Mute
7000 ohms - Preset Ch. Down
11700 ohms - Preset Ch. Up
    21700 ohms - Mode

I found the steering control wiring for the VX, I hope it helps.
