hey all.
yesterday i bought a clarion dvd head unit. single din bla bla bla..
the rear speakers which are hooked up to the head unit are working fine.
but my amps not working, nor my subs and front splits which are connected to the amp?
ive wired mostly everything up bar the illumination cord and parking brake cord..
which shouldnt make a difference as im only wanting to see if everything works at this point..
any help would be appreciated!

Checked all the fuses?
Are the lights coming on, On the amp?
Got the remote wire hooked up right?
If needed, Maybe just jump a bit of wire from the remote on the amp to the power on the amp and see if that turns the lights on and if you get anything then you can double check the connection on your headdeck?
Just sounds like your amps not getting the hole 'Ok I gota turn on now' bit.
For example,
See this picture, http://www.steynfamily.com/images/ul...ine-amp-02.jpg
On the top right hand side of that amp theres 3 wires, Negative, Remote turn on and Positive.
What Im trying to get at is do you have that remote wire hooked up right?
Also, What model is the head unit/amp?
he means put a bit of wire from the REMOTE terminal to the POSITIVE terminal, amp should power up
Not sure then.
Just sounds like the amps not getting power?
Checked the fuse up near the battery?
I blew one of them on the weekend, Well it looked abit old that may of had something to do with it but sus that out i guess.

Out of curiosity did you put abit of wire on the remote/positive?
some get the remote wire and the power antenna wire mixed up, perhaps double check those, amp fuses and the amps ground connecition.
have you checked your earth? i wan running an amp and it was working perfectly then bought a new one connected it the same n it wouldnt work, after checking everything it was the earth cable that never changed yet woldnt run the newin . just an idea
Think about what he's saying guys......" the amp/subs were working fine up until i disconnected the old head unit and went to wire up this unit ".
Get yourself a multimeter or test light and check for power at the REM and + terminal of the amp. If there is power at both terminals (obviously with the key turned to acc and head-unit on) then the amp should be powering up. Next thing to check is RCAs, did you connect them properly to the new head-unit?
If youve connected the RCAs to the subwoofer preouts, make sure theres not a setting in the head-unit to turn the subwoofer on / off etc.
Model number of new Clarion head-unit?

Well ive got ahold of the manual and cant find anywhere to turn the sub ON or OFF, so thats probably out of the equation. You could try plugging the RCAs into the front or rear outputs as ethann suggests but i dont think this will work.
Best to check theres power going to the amp first.
