Not sure if this has been posted, had a look couldn't find anything solid.
Wanted to know what the best system was to put in my car. I want to leave the head unit stock (i.e Blaupunkt), but was thinking about stickin a Subbie into the back.
Just wanted to know the best brand, output, set-up, and a rough price, or if anyone has a good kit already, what they've got and what it costs.
And also, this may be a stupid question, but suppose I needed my bootspace for a road trip (I do a few a year which is why I havent got a subbie yet), is it possible to have it taken out and put back in easily?
Thanks guys

Lol.
Well I wouldn't want to spend more than $700-$800
Oh, and do you just want it to be loud or do you want it for the added sound quality they give.
And yes, they can be taken out easily enough for holidays and crap like that

A bit of A and a bit of B really.
I've noticed when you pump up the stock stereo, even with the Audio Distorter off, it kinda still is a bit distorted.
I'm not sure whether the RCA outputs would solve that problem.
And I guess, you can't have your music too loud, as long as you know where to have it loud and where not to.
Heres a good solution for you: Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE CBR12 With Amplifier
Its relatively loud, and has some good sound quality to it. Its benifits include:
1. You can plug the ports to fine tune the sound you like.
2. The amplifier is built into the box
3. The box has handles
4. There are high level inputs on the amplifier for directly connecting to factory head unit
5. I can get some plugs for you that you can use to unplug the box like a power point for easy removal.

O just get him to do the install. He does great work. He will be able to do the line level conversion too so you can get the most potential out of it. He installed my CBR12 for me so hes going to know exactly what hes doing.

Whats the power specs on the sub and amp, can we see a pick of the amp please
oh and my advice, buy name brand products from an actual store, better service, easier after sales support.
I'll see if I can take a picture of mine in the morning or the afternoon. And if I can't grab a link to the manual I'll just scan a page from mine.
I'm off for the evening, happy new year everyone!

Hmmmm, dont even know the power specs of your own system..... keep up joe.....
Amplifier is rated at 300RMS and subwoofer is rated at 550RMS.
Pardon me for wanting to check a manual to ensure I'm giving the most accurate information. He's offline so I didn't see the big rush.

I personally wouldn't bother giving 2 subs 800 rms when they have a combined power handling of 1000 rms. Especailly in a sealed enclosure. Maybe with the extra effeciancy gained from a ported enlcosure...A lot of people spend all this money on subs, or even speakers for that matter, and then skimp on the amplifier.By skimp i don't really mean money wise, but power wise. If you want the very most out of your subs, then your going to need to at least match the rated input power. Then there's the importance of having a bit of headroom aswell. Sure there's also other things to be considered such as sensitivity and effeciency levels, but i'm just talking basic stuff about basic installs.
Note, an amplifier that can produce(for e.g) 800 watts RMS, at a given impedance, will not produce that amount of power all the time. There's also the issue of voltage drops. Even a small drop in voltage, can have a major affect on an amps power output.
I'm not saying it won't work, of course it will, or that it will sound bad, because everybody has different listening preferences. When you working with speakers, or subs, more does not always equate to better. It's quality vs quantity. A single better quality sub, in a "proper built enclosure" not a cheap pre-fab, properly installed and tuned, with sufficient power, is always going to outperform multiple cheap subs that are being underpowered....
So what you're saying is with these subs, a better option would be go the RCA's as opposed to the Amp's?
I don't think you understand. An RCA lead, is used to send a sound signal from your source (your head unit) to the amplifier. RCA's dont improve anything, they are just an essential part. My reply, which probably just confused you, was in regards to the reccomendation for the subs and amp, made by SV6 2vn.
