Thanks, well it might be better way to go as its all original still!! Next thing if talking new head units what would be a good brand to go for?
Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion etc etc.
Just let us know how much roughly you want to spend and if you want to be able to plug an Ipod in etc.

Thanks again for your help im not looking at spending heaps but something that half decent and a pulg for ipod would be good to im thinking $300 to $800 at the max as it only for my own use and i have grown up a little so music not as loud as it was afew years ago lol
$300 to $800 is a huge price range, lol.
Anyway.....heres a few around the $300 mark, if you need to get it installed, factor that in too (approx $100).
Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer DEH-2100IB Car CD MP3 Tuner Ipod($194.85)
Ryda Car Audio - Kenwood KDC-MP5043U Car CD & USB Tuner($208.85)
Ryda Car Audio - Clarion CZ209A Car CD MP3 USB Player($199.95)
Alpine Electronics of Australia
Theres just a few for around the $200-$300 mark (add another $100 for fitting if applicable). What i suggest you do is go into your local car audio store and have a look at these head-units (and others in your price range). Ask to have a play with each unit, adjust the volume, change tracks etc etc. You should come across one or two that stand out, then just bargain them down
My choice out of the ones ive suggested would be the Alpine, it kind of sacrifices looks and "bling" for great build quality and easy to use functions etc. But it such a personal thing, so go in and have a play.

I think i will go down to my local autobarn see whats there to have play with just so many to pick from lol but keep note off what u have suggested!
You have been a good help if i was in nsw u would have my work keep up good customer service
Yeah, in that price range (~$300) theres plenty.....but just looking at them here on the net is not really a good way to buy a head-unit, you'll be using it everyday so its important that you find it easy to use etc.
Haha, thanks.....will keep it up
Good luck anway.

Just a update i found and got on order Kenwood 200w usb, ipod direct cd tuner looks like the 1 u listed on sale for $199 so that a start n most my mates said to go with kenwood as they havent had any faults with them!
cya nads
Yep, if its the KDC-5043U then good choice, i actually have one fitted in my Honda Prelude and its great. Lacks a little with features but its easy to control (including Ipod) and will suit the VX dash.
Thats a great price too.....good work!
I personally sell and install Kenwood units, in the lower range (the 5043 and below) they are great value for money and ive found everyone has little to no trouble jumping in the car and controlling it.
