6.5inch in VY fronts?

will removing some of the material from the front door pods allow a 6.5inch split to sit in? or is there a need to make spacers, etc?

BTW i am a fan of the if it fits, it works no matter how it looks approach

Well, mounting a speaker without having a proper seal in between the front and the rear of the speaker will result in reduced bass response, im sure you dont want that

Anyway, yes if you remove the splash guard (rear of the pod) it should fit in OK, sometimes you also need to enlarge the mounting hole in the pod a little too.
