Hey guys,
I know you need a shallow sub for a ute, or can stick a nive big 12 inch down next to the fuel tank, but has anyone ever just throw a box in the back of the tray? jut run the speaker wires through the tray wall?
Does it work, would it be worth it?
Why not fill the entire tray with a massive sub box and use 2 x 18" subs! The Ultimate hoons ute

In response to the question keep it in the cabin where possible ofcourse and find the biggest space you can. Behind the passenger seat is the largest space from memory?

It been done b4 but mainly for show cars and getting the bass through to the cabin is difficult, requires lots of power. Ive made enclosures next to the fuel tank, ported bandpass with 10 inch. It ports straight into the cabin using the vent and sounds awesome as long as you use the right subwoofer. Ive heard of 12 inch subwoofers being used but not as a bandpass. The bandpass box only ports the bass into the cabin only. Using a 12 inch exposes the sub to the enviroment outside and rattles can be heard outside the car.
For around 650 to 1000 depending on woofer you can get the best results with the 10 inch setup.
