Default mounting amp in VN boot

I need a bit of help working out the best way to mount my amp into the boot of me VN.

The amp measuers 17" x 10".....would prefer to put it under the parcel shelve, but after reading a few threads maybe a false floor might be an idea

    would appreciate any help

    cheers

    What amp?

Most amps can be mounted on the underside of the parcel shelf without problems. Making a false floor isnt as easy as it looks.

the amp is too wide to fit under the shape of the parcel shelve without making brackets......its an ebay special I bought about 3 yrs ago and never got round to putting in till now...its all hooked up and sounds ok to my cheap ear...its a 5 channel amp rated at 600watts per channel with the sub channel rated at 1000, probably over rated. but ok for my needs as I'm almost completely deaf in one ear anyway

I put mine on the diff hump, right in the middle, so when you open the seat, it is right there. Will probably get some sort of protective something over it soon.

I thought about that spot, bu use me boot a fair bit, so not really an option unless I build a box to fit over it

chuck it on the back of the rear seat in the boot. easy to hide wires and wont get in the way of anything.

might be worth making the brackets to have it under the parcel shelf mate.

    Cheers.

Nevyn, you have a lot of options, but i guess it comes down to how much time you have, how good your carpentry skills are, and how much space your willing to saccrifice. False floors are an option, but like Holden Boy said, are easier said than done. MDF board accross the back seats, false wall to coneal, theres many options. I simply velcroed all mine down to the carpet across the diff hump. Wasn't the faniciest, but was quick, easy and effective, and meant i could remove them quickly when needed.

But at the end of the day, i wouldn't go to too much trouble. No offence, but it's only a VN, it's not a show peice, plus it's in the boot. Your more probably likely to either upgrade your gear, or your car, at some point, so yeah i'd just go with the quickest and easiest , and ofcourse, cheapest option...
