What could be wrong?

Okay i have problems with my amp. When my radio is off my power light to my amp lights up just like it should. but when the radio is on it lights up the "protect" light (the only other light besides the power light). do you think i might of blown a fuse in my amp?

doubt it
sounds like the a bad earth somewhere, and make sure your power cords arent touching any bare metal.

also is the fuse on the amp wiring blown (usually under the bonnet near the battery)

First off...your amp SHOULDN'T be switched on when the radio is off. Wire it in properly

It has gone into protection mode because you have short somewhere or a speaker had shorted internally.
