I have just bought a VE SV6, dont have it yet, its on a truck. should be here in a few weeks. But i want to have everything ready and know what i gotta do.
I read back on a few posts and have a vague idea on what to do. I just want to confirm this.
To wire up a amp in a VE i need to get a 2 or 4 channel Line Out Converter or a Amp that has High frequency or whatever speaker inputs.
Now i tap into the rear speaker wires and run them into the boot to connect to either the LOC or amp. Then proceed as normal with installing a Sub (and Amp if i use the LOC).
i also plan on upgrading the factory speakers at some point. So which way should i go to get good sound quality?

To achieve good sound quality with relative simplicity most people like to upgrade the splits in the front and add a sub in the rear, tapping into the rear speakers for the subwoofer as you said. Amplification of all new speakers is essential to get the most out of them. Using a LOC is a simple and effective option but there are also people like Greg from ASR Audio on here who can modify your head unit to put out RCA outputs which would sound better than using a LOC.

What speakers would you surgest to replace the stock door speakers. I will probably just run them off the head unit for now, but i would like to amp them in the future.
I would like the speakers to fit in the original door mounts with no modification. just in case i want to sell hte car later and keep my speakers.
thanks for the help. Ive had a look, and i think i might just get your Cache D line out converter, splice it off the rear door speaker wires. and power a sub and amp in the boot.
I was looking at your Edge 12' sub with amp built in, has anyone had any experience with this one?
I wouldn't think so. They get here in Feb so I can do some testing! Are you in Sydney?

no, im up in Ayr in North Queensland. Its just a bit south from Townsville. Ive had a look at a few other audio stores online and they all seem to be down in your area.
But im looking at getting a single 12' for now. But im still not sure if i should get the LOC or a amp with High input.
My AD6s always come to mind because they will fit with a simple spacer and do offer good levels of clarity and midbass for the money.
Couple of reviews in here: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...w-section.html
Its difficult to suggest what you should get though, I need to know the kind of music you listen to, the kind of budget you have in mind and what your expectations of the upgrade are, whether you want more clarity, more bass or both.
One easy way is to use one of these: Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE CBR12 With Amplifier
Amp/Box/Sub/Wires and it has high level inputs. If needed you could always add a LOC in later. I know the Cache models work fine in VEs but VIBE is built well so they wouldn't include a poor quality high level input on their amps.
