    Exclamation Amp?

I was at the local market over the weekend and came across a guy selling all kinds of different subs and what not. Found an Audiobahn ALUM12N Audiobahn :: Sub Woofers :: 12inch sub with 1000watt rms for $60 bucks brand new. Now my question is what sort of amp do i need to run this and the amp will not be running any other speakers either.
thanks for your help in advance

Ohh 3-ohm sub, thats gonna suck. You are going to need an amp with about 700-800wrms at 4-ohm and 1400-1600wrms at 2-ohm. Something like this, Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-2000D . Not cheap.

Apparently Schneider aren't bad, not great but probably on par with most mainstream brands. But the 1450M won't make anywhere near enough power, it makes 1450wrms at 1-Ohm, so I would assume it makes 725wrms at 2-ohms, so I'd be thinking about 540wrms at 3-ohm.

Ummm how did you come up with that theory?? Its a 1000wrms sub, so therefore you would assume it will take 1000wrms all day long. Dosen't matter if that power is provided by 1 amp or 4 amps.

How come no one has asked the question of how you come to buy a 1000 watt RMS sub, new, for $60??
And then consider going out and forking out over 1000 bucks on an amp for it?

Oh and mintVR, what drugs are you smoking

1000wrms is the rated power. Meaning the voice coil will burn at 1000wrms
