Hello,
I have had my VX for 5 years and finally the Nokia car phone cradle that was mounted from beside the stereo gave me the shits as I have never used it. I managed to break off the steel mount and then I just cut the wires to the cradle. All sounds good and simple, but now the stereo displays TEL and obviously thinks that the phone is in use and is putting the phone call through the stereo.
Can someone please tell me what the solution is. Hopefuly it is as simple as joining some wires on the phone harness together so the stereo thinks that the phone is not in use.
Any way hope someone has the solution.
Thanks
I would say when youve "cut the wires" you have joined some of the wires, to fix this you need to remove the glovebox (theres a plastic pin on the inside RHS of the glovebox, get a flate blade screwdriver in there a pry it out). Once you got the glovebox out, you'll see 2 or 3 screws holding the side cover panel of the centre console, remove these and lower the cover panel down. You should see the wiring you cut and where it connects to. Either unplug it (if possible) or cut each wire one at a time. Tape each wire individually then all together.
Turn stereo back on and you shouldnt have TEL displayed.
BTW, this has been covered a few times so just do a search![]()

Holdenboy,
Thanks for the info, the wires to the phone cradle are sticking out of the centre consul so I will take each wire and tape the end of it. Hopefuly this works.
