Default Running Woofer/Tweeter on seperate amp channels?

    Hey,
i am getting a monoblock amp, so now i have the opportunity to run my splits off my 4 channel amp. It is rated at 4x50/2x120 though i feel it is very under rated, it is much more powerful than my 4x50 response amp.
Anyway, i am looking for more adjustability because my tweeters seem to loud, and i cant change them to -3dBa or anything on the cross overs.

So what would i be better to do? Run the 120wrms to each of them, or run 50wrms to each woofer, and turn the gain down and run maybe 30wrms to each tweeter?

Has anyone had any experience with doing this?

    Thanks.

To biamp your components you will either need:

    a) crossovers capable of taking a separate input for each component
    b) 2 sets of crossovers
    c) decent filters on your head unit and amp

Otherwise you'll be stuck either with full range to the woofers, or full range to the tweeters, both of which will sound awful and probably blow your components

You cant use the amp to run the tweeters directly unless its high pass filter point can be set at around 2.5khz. Most highpass filters in amplifiers can not be set at that point.

put a capacitor inline on the active lead i.e. 2.2k or 3k (or what ever cut in point U want)
and Y can run the tweets dirrect off the amp

You cant just put any frequency to the tweeter vz-rob
you have to no the crossover point and what slope it is playing on the woofer.
Other wise there might be to much overlap or gap in frequencies.

You could put a non inductive ceramic resistor in line with the tweeter wire. But you still have to use your original crossover.
This is what they use in crossovers to make it go down -3db.
You can buy them from jaycar.
Buy some values and test till you get the right sound you want. They are cheap.
I have made some crossovers using these resistors.
Get the highest wattage one there.

Better off bridging the amp and using the crossovers as designed.
