I dunno, I'll try to sound less retarded as possible about this question.
I have read on a few forums/websites that there is a device that you can connect to your speaker line which when it detects audio on the line will then send a remote signal to an amplifier.
It works in a way that once no more sound is detected on the line it will then stop sending a signal to turn the amplifier on. (Of course for sanity reasons it wont just turn off once sound has gone but have a grace of 1 minute and if no sound is detected in that time the signal to the remote on the amp will stop - in turn.. turning off the amp).
I'm looking for one just so I can connect it to the amplifier I use to power my sub woofer in my VE commodore - If i can find one soon I'll go that direction rather than running a remote wire from the front of the car.
Thanks for any help.. appreciated in advanced.
ps. feel free to also feedback why this might also be a bad idea, as I'm just doing it in pure lazyness as I can be bothered cutting wires and running them for a remote.[/LIST]
the device you are looking for is built into some amplifiers like Kicker. Other devices like line converters still have a 12volt input wire but output 12volts when music signal is recieved so yes you wont have to run a wire from the front of the car. But your still going to need your speaker inputs from the rear doors. Which are accessed halway to the front of the car. Olso these devices are more expensive than normal line converters
