planning on building a box for my 12 inch sub to go in the enclosure next to the fuel tank and was wondering what would be the best way to face the sub if it is fully enclosed inside teh box either towards the cabin or to the rear of the tray? or not havin it fully enclosed inside the box and just facing towards teh cabin?
Search the forums, i have answered this question a few times.
It is physically impossible to mount the 12 inch woofer inside the box in a bandpass enclosure. The only way to fit the sub is to mount it on the outside of your sealed enclosure facing the front of the car so it fires into the 2 vents going into the cabin.
Or you could build or have one built for a 10 inch in a bandpass enclosure so the sub sits inside the L shaped box and a 4 inch port through the vent and into the enclosure. No rattles, all the bass going into the cabin only, and less wear on the woofer by not firing it straight into a metal wall and also by it being inside not being able to deteriorate from the outside elements.
i have searched but mainly only found it for vs utes and wasnt sure if it was the same or not so thought id check.. thanks for that tho thats exactly what i been looking for
i have some pics of vz or vu utes and vs utes
could you post those pictures?
and how much to you charge to build a box like you described??
thanks
Here from another thread
Little speaker setup
We charge customers around 400 to 550 depending on setups.
Its not an easy box to make, I have built around 15 of them so far this way.
what does that include? just the box? or sub? wiring?
thanks mate
Just the box and the port and to install it into the vehicle and run a sub wire into the cabin.
What is the max depth of a sub the box could take?
