Infinity 610A Mono - Any Good?

Hi all,
Sorry I have started so many threads lately, I am trying to sort out the rest of my stereo on a fairly tight budget. Everything is now sorted except for an amp to run my sub (Soundstream rubicon, DVC 4ohm, 600wrms).
Locally a guy is selling his whole Infinity setup, from which i can get a 610A Monoblock, just shy of 700wrms at 2 ohm. I haven't heard much of this company however i read that they were owned by Harmon, the great home theater brand.

I checked the amp out, it is in good condition etc, just wondering if they are half decent?
I'm not looking for a show stopping setup, just something to run the sub well. The amp is $100 and its really good because he lives around the corner and can go pick it up.

Any help would be great.

For 100 dollars buy it after you have tested it to work or he tests it in front of you. Over 600 watts rms for 100 dollars sounds almost to good to be true.

thats right usual it is 1watt equals $1 so it is a good buy if it works.

i have taken one of my other amps out so i can now hook up the amp in my boot to test it out. He has two of them plus another 4 channel i think me and my mates are buying it all haha..
I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone who pays $1 per 1wRMS is either insane or buying an amp with a good reputation for SQ. I picked up my Eaudio1000D (1,000wRMS@1ohm) for $250. Jaycar 1,000w mono's go for around $200-$300 depending on where you buy.

you get what you pay for most of the time.
nothing is free.
it also depends on how good the internal parts are in the amp and were it is made.
ie. most of jaycars stuff are made in Taiwan. not very good.

I found jaycar stuff to be pretty good mate esepcially for the money.i've be running a 50x4 response amp that is at least 3 years old, i've dropped it on concrete and had water on it, most reliable amp i've run so far

yeh they are pretty good for what they are.
there good value. I am not saying there shit mate.
my dad had a pionner amp from the early 90s
and it is still running made in japan. thats like 16 years old
i doubt the response will last that long. but never konow

yeah my amp could be older, i got it second hand 3 years ago so i never really know.

But anyway, i did buy the Infinity amp, tested everything works great. only bad point is its huge! 30x40x7cm
