Hi Everyone,
New here & to commodores.
I'm trying to put my stereo into my VZ wagon and having some issues. It fits great but the wiring is confusing me.
I've cut the factory plug off so i've got all the wires there ready to join to my stereo's loom. ( jvc headunit )
as posted on here::
VN - VZ
Accesories - Yellow
Constant - Orange/White ( CANT FIND THIS ONE!! )
Illumination - Brown/White
Earth - Black/White
12V OUTPUT - Yellow/Red
Radio Mute - Yellow/Black (VT onwards)
Antenna up - White (VR onwards)
Antenna down - Blue (VR onwards)
Illumination OUTPUT - Grey (VT onwards)
I may have blown my fuse when i touched a wire by mistake cause now i can't get 12v out of the accessories either. ( which i notice stays on even after you take the key out of the ign for a while )
Some help would be greatly appreciated!!
cheers.
Umm I'm not reading this right. Whats the problem? Blown fuse? Change the fuse.
And the car will keep giving accessories power until you open the drivers door or the time limit is hit.

1. Is there a 2nd fuse box? I don't see one for the acc / stereo in the box under the bonnet....
2. Need someone to explain my lack of constant power wire.

Welcome to the forums, you probably have blown the fuse when you cut the wires. Pull the fuse panel down under the steering column and check the radio and cigarette lighter fuses. Next time just cut the wires one at a time and try not to let the wires touch.
But Luke0011 then where we get to see cool light shows. Like the time I undid the positive battery terminal with my spanner, and touched the handle to the chassis.

ok still not finding a fuse panel under the steering column.... somewhere else on the vz?
WikiAnswers - Where is the lighter fuse for vz holden commodore
that helped haha.
ok i'll go pull harder at that panel.
Haha, ive done that a few times, lol. There is also a fuse box next to the battery, remove the cover and check the fuses there.
A picture for ya. You didn't pull down the cover did you.LOL.
Just get you hand between the cover and steering column, pull towards seats and down.

So do you lose all your settings when you turn the car off? Because that would suck.

yeah i'm pretty sure if i ever sell this the person buying will be happy with a better than factory stereo. Can't believe how much better it sounds now even through stock speakers.
