    Default Amp Power/Channel Splitter

The thought was running through my mind when helping a mate install his system the other day, can you get a 2 channel amp, and split the power across into 4 channels.

I.e if you 'bridge' 2 channel's into one...

    Can you 'split' 2 channel's into 4? (split 1 into 2)

So you're asking if you can run 4 speakers off a 2 channel amp?

You can but you need be aware of your speaker impedance so you don't run the amp too hard. You would just connect the two speakers to each channel in parallel.

You will lose tuning capabilities. But if thats not a problem then considering that most door speakers are 4-ohm and most 2 and 4 channel amps can handle 2-ohms, then might as well make the most of the extra power.

You can if your amp is 2 Ohm stable. You wont be able to use the fading option if you have speakers in
the back and front using the same amp.

Just make 100% sure first. Nothing worse then destroying a brand new expensive amp. Now days though even the cheapest amps ( Fusion etc.) aren't too bad for 4 channel.
