Audio decreases when car slows down

ok so i have an annoying problem with my lumina LS (same as commodore. just a different name in some countries). every time i speed up the volume of the stereo increases.. and everytime i slow down it decreases.. im guessing its a feature.. but honestly it frustrates the crap out of me!

is there any way of disabling it?

yes it a feature.

it is disabled in the start-up option menu under 'speed dependent volume'
